PW lot (2) Waltham, "Non-Magnetic" marked mvts with consecutive serial numbers, 15J, Model 1883, 18S, nickel OF display recases, white enamel SS dials in English export market style with "Waltham U.S.A." signature, SW-SS, non-magnetic alloy balance wheels and hairsprings, nickel damascene, s#15663213 and s#15663214. A beautifully matched pair of consecutively serialized English market non-magnetic Waltham watches.
CONDITION:
S#15663213: Mvt: Ticking sluggishly with a bit of error in the round of its balance motion after a twist to start, overhaul recommended, excellent-plus cosmetic mvt condition overall, small marring tight around upper case screw position, few micro-fine scratches elsewhere; dial with perimeter hls between 10 and 11; fine hands appear to have been recolored, hour and minute recoloring is well executed, seconds-hand relatively poorly executed and original gilt finish is visible in areas; case shows little wear, few fine scratches and pinpoint nicks, some mild tarnish spotting; tight bow, crown shows little wear; front glass crystal with some small internal edge flakes, rear glass crystal with internal edge chip or flake at top. S#15663214: Mvt: Running after a twist to start, excellent cosmetic mvt condition overall, fine scratch between upper case screw and balance wheel, some typical lesser fine to micro-fine scratches elsewhere; dial with hls between 7 and 8, hls between 12 and 1; fine hands appear to have been recolored, hour and minute recoloring is well executed, seconds-hand is a bit less well executed with subtle bits of its original gilt finish evident; case shows little wear, few pinpoint nicks, some mild tarnish spotting; tight bow, crown shows little wear; good glass crystals.
